In the narrative of the great transformation of our cities towards a more sustainable environment, one of the concepts or "future places" are "learning and making hubs". However a clear definition is not given, which is a deliberate choice because there is no one definition explaining the phenomenon. In order to provide an explanation, we will highlight some projects in the following fragments. Each one of these projects provides a building block which contain a possible facet in order to constitute a "learning and making hub". It is important to note that none of these projects are necessarily describing a best practice case study but that the aforementioned building blocks can be combined and rearranged to create a framework or provide some inspiration for future projects.
